PRESENTATIONS
Thrill to the many exciting sounds as 20 fingers cover the whole keyboard, showing the enormous range of musical tone and colour of the piano duet, with the power and subtlety of an orchestra.
Anne and Geoffrey’s presentations, suitable for different levels and all ages, explore orchestral colour on various themes through the duet repertoire, giving stimulus and inspiration for performance, listening and composition.

.
Presentations last typically half/three-quarters to an hour . . . . or longer, at your choice.
The programme can be based on your own theme . . . .OR . . . . here are some suggestions:
Orchestra in a Box – Showing the enormous range of musical tone and colour of the piano with the power and subtlety of an orchestra -- for example: bells/cymbals/gongs and pentatonic scale (Laideronette Empress of the pagodas),leading to Trumpet and Drum (Jeux d'Enfants) with typical patterns, Donkey and Cuckoo (Carnival of the Animals) using 'string' glissandi and descriptive intervals, Carabosse and the Lilac Fairy (Sleeping Beauty) represented by 'brass' chords, 'harp' ripples, tremolandi 'strings' for changes of mood between fury and calm. Travel to Egypt for evocative music from ‘L’Egyptienne’ ( from Six Epigraphes) and to Spain with a Spanish Dance invoking castanets, tambourine, strumming guitar and characteristic patterns – all in piano duet repertoire.
Peer Gynt (and other works by Grieg) - Grieg compiled two orchestral suites from the incidental music to Ibsen’s play and then arranged them for piano duet. The story is told with movements from the two suites performed in their relevant places.
A Country of Music – Composers through the eras of a particular country.
Music for Dance - The rhythm and melody of dances through the centuries, from basse dance to bolero, rondo to rumba, is the basis for this inspirational theme.
Music by Design – An historical survey of musical form from binary/ternary, through rondo, ground bass, variation and dance forms as well as the sonata and programme music. An informative illustrated overview of one aspect of music history.
Pictures in Music - By linking music with works of art, either of a particular era or through the centuries, composers and their works are put in a wider context of their time.
